Partial project
DP 018
System for Identifying the Recyclability of Thermoplastics
Project Duration: May 1, 2025 – December 31, 2028
Lead Organization: Plastics Cluster
Project Objective:
To investigate defined changes in the structure of the used polymer or polymer blend in order to be able – through relatively simple and operational measurement or inspection – to define the “quality status” of a plastic product or component. This should align with the definitions of this material for further classification at the entry point to recycling (more details available here).
Planned Outputs:
-
O – Other – Methodology for determining the quality of recycled polymers and defining the quality threshold suitable for mechanical recycling (June 2028)
-
O – Other – Workshop aimed at introducing the professional public to the project results (December 2027)
-
Fuzit – Integrated equipment – workplace for assessing the quality of recycled polymers and determining the quality thresholds for selected product groups (December 2027)
-
O – Other – Research study – theoretical LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) analysis (December 2027)
-
O – Other – Research study – LCA report (December 2028)
-
Fuzit – Equipment and measurement procedure for conducting accelerated thermo-oxidative aging tests (December 2028)
-
Ztech – Verified technology (March 2027)
-
Ztech – Verified technology (May 2027)
