NANOSED | Multi-layered nanofibre insert for anti-decubitus seating systems
Project duration: 1 July 2026 – 31 December 2028
Principal investigator: Nanoprogress, z.s.
Project objective: The aim of the project is to develop a modular, multi-layered functional insert based on polyurethane nanofibre structures for anti-decubitus seating systems for wheelchair users. The solution will combine mechanical stability, high breathability and moisture regulation with antimicrobial, absorbent and odour-neutralising functions, with the aim of increasing user comfort and reducing the risk of pressure ulcers.
Planned outputs:
Gfunk – Advanced nanofibre membrane as an insert for a multifunctional seat cushion (12/2027)
Gfunk – Sandwich system as a functional insert for a multifunctional wheelchair seat cushion (6/2028)
Fuzit – Comprehensive system for a multifunctional wheelchair seat insert (12/2028)
O – Comprehensive approach to addressing the degradation of sandwich structures using a circular approach (12/2028)
